Systems & Transformation

Transforming systems through a user-centred digitisation approach.

See below some case studies where I contributed to systems’ transformation in public organisations and institutions.

World Food Programme

Context

Working at the intersection of technology, operations, and organisational change, I contribute to initiatives that support the transition from legacy systems and fragmented processes towards more integrated, scalable, and user-centred corporate digital systems.

Challenge

Large-scale transformation is rarely a technology problem alone. The challenge lies in aligning people, processes, governance, and systems while maintaining continuity of service and responding to evolving organisational needs.

Working within a complex international environment requires helping teams navigate uncertainty while building shared momentum around change.

My Contribution

As a Senior IT Project Manager (2026 - now):

  • Coordinating the delivery of strategic digital transformation initiatives within a long-term organisational modernisation roadmap.

  • Facilitating collaboration between business leaders, technology teams, and external partners to align priorities and drive implementation.

  • Translating complex organisational needs into structured delivery approaches.

  • Supporting the redesign of critical digital capabilities and business processes to improve efficiency, scalability, and user experience.

  • Establishing governance, reporting, and decision-making mechanisms that enable transparency and informed prioritisation.

Reflections

Digital transformation is ultimately about people as much as technology. Successful change requires understanding how systems, behaviours, and organisational structures interact, and creating conditions for collaboration and adaptability that allow new ways of working to emerge.

Enabling Digital Transformation Across a Global Organisation

Designing Digital Products Across Health Systems

Context

A digital platform (CODA) to track malnutrition treatment cycles was being redeveloped in WFP to be deployed across multiple countries, requiring coordination between global engineering teams, country offices, and healthcare providers.

Challenge

How do you create alignment across distributed teams operating in different contexts while maintaining a consistent teamwork?

How do you design a solution that can cater to difference in contexts, environments and users?

My Contribution

  • Facilitated collaboration between the different technical teams

  • Visually mapped user journeys and application flows of nutrition treatment

  • Helped shape product priorities around user needs and organisational goals

  • Performed QA testing and established approaches for measuring adoption and effectiveness

Reflections

This work reinforced the importance of teamwork, local ownership, and systems thinking when implementing digital solutions at scale

Context

To ensure accountability to donor countries, WFP regularly undertakes evaluations of running projects, policies and initiatives, making sure maximum efficiency and effectiveness are achieved.

Challenge

How do you create a culture where accountability and lessons learnt are incorporating into next project plannings?

My Contribution

As Data Analyst and Consultant (2007 - 2010):

  • Provided background literature research and data analysis for evaluation reports

  • Supported training programs in decentralised evaluation methodologies

  • Helped shape a digital, online version of a quality assurance framework for evaluation reports accessible by users within the organisation across the globe

Reflections

This work reinforced the importance of continuous improvement through assessments based on both qualitative and quantitative data, while creating a culture where evaluation is seen as a learning tool to inform future projects

Understanding User Trust in Digital Systems

Context

As digital currencies are being considered for adoption by governments, academic research tries to understand not only the financial implications, but also user perception in issues such as data privacy and trust in public institutions.

Challenge

How do users understand the implications of a digital currencies managed by their government?

My Contribution

As Researcher and Lecturer (2021-2022):

  • Conducted research, winning a scholarship for investigating the chosen topic

  • Taught International Political Economy to Bachelor’s students, in dynamic, role-based and multi-media exercises that foster both professional skills and critical thinking
