Irony, retro mood and plot twist

Funk Vibes From Planet Retro

This is a short music video I created to to send as entry to the Assembly Winter 2026 event in Helsinki.

The video tells a quirky story of aliens and grannies, in a retro settings inspired by cultural trends of the 80s-and early 1990s.

The initial concept was to create a video homage to the Jane Fonda aerobics cultural trend of the 1980s. The story then naturally evolved by following the available copyright-free footage on Pexels.com.

The music was created with GarageBand (my original tune), video footages from Pexels, some images edited with Unfold. Final video edited with iMovie.

Emotion and atmosphere

When We First Met

The video was created to match an original tune I had created. Being the tune a bit dreamy, I leaned into a similar evocative emotion for the storyline. The concept of soul mates, of meeting over and over throughout different lives, is at the core of “When We First Met”.

Luckily enough, the perfect video footage was available on the platform Pexels to match the mood. The overall aesthetic is retro, a common thread in my video and music.
